Confidence decay (FadeMem)
Time-based reduction of confidence on memories not accessed recently. Keeps the graph from drowning in stale beliefs without manual archival.
Implemented as FadeMem in StudioMeyer Memory, configurable in Mem0 Pro, implicit via temporal edges in Zep. Formula: each memory has a half-life (e.g. 30 days). Every retrieval boosts confidence back. Memories never accessed asymptote toward archive threshold. Aggressive decay (halve every 7 days) on facts you know change quickly: address, role, current project. Default decay (halve every 60 days) on stable facts. Run via nex_decay or equivalent monthly.
