Auto-Memory (Claude Code)
Default-on since March 2026. Claude writes notes to local memory files in the background while you work. Toggle via autoMemoryEnabled in settings.json.
Captures build commands, architecture decisions, user preferences, things you correct it on. Writes to ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md and per-project CLAUDE.md. Local-only, Claude-Code-only — no cross-tool sync. Useful when you only use Claude Code, dangerous when you also run an external memory MCP server (file path collision).
